At Scarlett Panda, some might say we are obsessed with pandas and their stories. But to be honest, how can you not be? Emblem of the WWF, symbol of friendliness and peace in China, pandas are loved and cherished across the world.
Today we have decided to list our 5 favorite facts or stories about pandas:
They have 6 fingers: well actually not exaclty 6 fingers, they have 5 “real” thingers and one enlarged wrist-bone.
Pandas are huge eaters: they never get sick of that bamboo and spend up to 16 hours per day eating. Pandas are definitely not fans of intermittent fasting! They also poop up to 28kg per day (be careful where you walk in that jungle).
They are very good at camouflage: indeed their very unique white and black fur actually helps them blend in nicely to their environments. Their colour was also the main reason WWF chose them as logo (it saved them printing costs but shhhhh!)
They can swim: they are actually very good at it! They use that skill to essentially escape danger.
They live about 15 years in the wild but can live up to 35 years in captivity.
